CANCELLATION POLICY
At In Fur A Trim I understand that life sometimes gets in the way and that appointments can get forgotten, which is why I will aim to send out a text reminder of your appointment 24 hrs before you are due. Appointments can be re-arranged or cancelled up to the day before your scheduled appointment without charge.
If you cancel on the day of your appointment, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the groom will be required to rebook.
If you do not show up to your appointment and fail to contact me, 50% of the missed appointment will need to be paid and a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the full groom price will also be required to secure another slot.
As a small business, I unfortunately cannot afford to lose out on income for these appointments so please let me know in plenty of time if you can't make it!
FLEA POLICY
Because I work from my home, any dogs presented with fleas will unfortunatly be turned away at the door and rebooked when any infestion has been cleared. If fleas are discovered mid groom, I will contact you to inform you and a £5 charge will be added to your total groom price, if you have more than one pet with me, this will be charged per pet. This is to cover the cost of the flea shampoo, and the fumigation treatment of the salon/my home.
LATE ARRIVAL POLICY
If you are late, I'm sure you will appreciate that I cannot always manage the schedule in a way that means I can complete a groom as planned, I will always try to manage the schedule to allow me to finish a groom safely and to a high standard but in the event I can’t, you may need to book a short follow-up appointment to complete the groom and there will be an additional charge for this.
If you are more than 30 minutes late for your appointment without contact, your appointment will be cancelled and filed as a missed appointment, 50% of the groom price must be paid and a deposit will be required to rebook.
If you have contacted me but are still more than 30 minutes late your appointment will be cancelled and a deposit will be required to rebook.
LATE COLLECTION POLICY
I will always aim to give at least 30 minutes notice of when your pet will be finished and ready for collection or will discuss and agree upon a retun time at drop off, if you are over 30 minutes late to collect your pet, there will be an additional pet sitting charge of £5 for every 10 minutes you are late added onto the total cost of the groom. I offer a 1:1 grooming service and it is unfair on the following dogs and myself so please try to contact me if you know you will be late to collect.
MATTED DOGS POLICY
We know that no owner deliberately lets their dog become matted, but it does happen quite easily and it can be very difficult to groom a dog with a matted coat. The most important thing to understand is that we will always prioritise the welfare of your dog and that we will not inflict any excessive stress or discomfort to your dog whilst in our care.
When a dog’s coat is matted it may need to have a very short clip, this can cause irritation as the blades have to run below the matt and very close to the skin, this takes longer than a regular clip and means the clipper blades can get very hot so the groomer has to take regular breaks in order to let the blades cool to avoid burning your dog’s skin. It is also possible that we may uncover nicks, cuts or other potential problems which have been hidden by the matted hair.
As the owner, we ask that you agree that In Fur A Trim Dog Grooming cannot be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems uncovered on a badly matted, neglected coat, which could include, but are not limited to, the following: itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing or biting. Please be aware that there is a much higher risk that the dog’s skin could be nicked with the clippers as we have to get the blade underneath the matt in order to remove it and although we will make every effort to avoid it, it does occasionally happen that we nick the skin. In Fur A Trim Dog Grooming cannot be held liable for any injuries or nicks that occur as a result of a clip off due to matting.
If a dog has excessively matted ears, bleeding at the tips of the ear can occur when the matting is removed, this is because the delicate blood vessels have been restricted by the tight matted hair and releasing this pressure means blood rushes to the tips of the ears and can cause the ears to split at the tip. In Fur A Trim will do everything we can to avoid this happening but it is sometimes unavoidable, so please be aware that there is a possibility it could happen. If it does happen we would recommend taking your dog to the vet for a check-up, explaining that the ears have been trimmed due to excessive matting.
In Fur A Trim will always act in the best interests of your dog and we reserve the right to interrupt or abandon the groom of any dog for the safety of the groomer and the dog, as we believe that no dog should be subjected to undue stress or discomfort during a groom.
There may be an additional matting fee of £10, depending on the severtity of matting, however this will be discussed prior to the groom. This fee is to cover the cost of any extra time needed to safely clip a matted coat and also the maintence of tools, as matting can cause premature blunting and damage to blades.
